1. What are the products of Steel division?

Our Steel Division manufactures large diameter submerged arc welded

helical seam (SAWH) pipes, ranging from diameter of 8 inch to 90 inch and
wall thickness of 4 mm to 20mm, in grades up to API 5L X-80 or equivalent.
We also have the capability to apply anti-corrosion & flow-efficient coatings,
both externally & internally, on these pipes.
We apply multi-layer polyolefin coating, single layer fusion bonded epoxy
coating, liquid epoxy coatings & high temperature tape coatings externally
on pipes ranging from 4 to 60 inches in diameter. And, we apply anticorrosion epoxy coatings, flow efficiency coatings & cement lining internally
on pipes ranging from 8 to 60 inches in diameter.

2. What is the life cycle of the products?

High-tech products often require longer development times and higher costs,
making their growth stages long enough to spread on decades. Commodities,
such as steel, tend to have relatively static demand with sales that do not
appreciably decline from an absence of competition. Sales would vary,
though, from an increase in competing products.
Being high-tech engineering goods, our products are not expected to see the
final stage, i.e. the decline stage, of the product life cycle. Our products are
made to order. We initiated pipe manufacturing in 1987, and we currently
see our products in growth phase.

3. What are the different types of raw materials that you

use?
We use hot rolled steel coils to manufacture bare pipes. Other notable raw
materials used in bare pipe manufacturing are welding wire, welding flux,
steel grit etc. In coating, we use raw materials like adhesives, polyethylene,
polypropylene etc.

4. Who are your end users?

The major end users of our pipes are oil & gas entities in government &
private sector, water supply/distribution agencies etc. Our pipes are also
used as deep foundations for structural use.

5. How do you price your products?

We establish our products price to assure sales. Our prices are market driven
prices. We bid against tenders published by our customers. In such biddings, the
bidder whose price is lowest gets the order. And, we keep our prices lower by
maintaining higher product quality at lower cost than that of our competitors. Also,
our pricing depends upon the prices of hot rolled coils which account for major part
of our total cost
