Middle school years from grades 6 to 8 are known as the "tough years" due to differences in physical, emotional, and cognitive development between girls and boys. While single-sex classrooms were illegal in public schools for many years, they have become more common recently, though some still oppose them. The document argues that mixed-sex classrooms are better than single-sex ones because (1) they help students develop confidence by learning alongside the other sex, (2) students are motivated to work hard to get attention from the other sex, and (3) interacting with the other sex helps students learn to communicate with different people.

The middle school years (grade 6,7, and 8 ) are known to be the tough years. These are the years when the different rates of girls and boys physical, emotional, and cognitive development are most noticeable. Girls develop ahead of boys in every boys in every area, and both suffer. Educators debate whether the separation of boys and girls into single-sex classes were against the law in public school until several years ago, but now they have become more common. Although some parents, educators, and civil liberties groups continue to oppose single-sex classes, there is some evidence that separating boys and girls in middle school produces positive results. First, mix-sex classes can earn self confidence easily, boys usually good at math and physics, so in the math and physics classes they will be very confident in classes. On the anther hand, girls usually good at Language class like English, and girls usually good at thinking, they have better creative thinking, they can earn self confidence in these ways. Single-sex classes have to face this kind of problem, they have the same skill and same mind, so they will get sad easily. Self confident can help people study well, not that easy to get a fix mind, not give up easily. Then, girls and boys in the same classes can help them study well. Most of boys want show the positive side to girls, they will work hard to get girls attention. In P.E class, boys always try their best to get girls attention. Same as girls, they always make up before go to school, they try to be beautiful to get boys attention. Sometimes people love to teach heterosexual to improve, and they may get improve from teaching others. Finally, interaction is very important to peoples life, many people become homosexual because they spent all the time with same sex people, people may get seek because that. Some people become very shy when they fave to a heterosexual, some people can not find a paternal. When people in a mix-sex classes, that will help them protect how to communicate with a heterosexual, with they work or find a boyfriend/girlfriend, that will help them a lot. For all those reasons, the arguments against same-sex class are not valid. On the contrary, many people say that same sex classes provide a better learning environment. Boys and girls pay less attention to each other and more attention on
their school work. Therefore, in my opinion, the policy of allowing single sex classes is not as good as a mix classes room, so it should be continued and encouraged.
Some People Think That Students in Single-Sex Schools Perform Better Academically. Others, However, Believe That Mixed Schools Provide Children With Better Social Skills For Adult Life.
