InfluenceLines

AbendingmomentinfluencelineforanygivenpointXonastructureisalinewhoseordinateatany
pointBqivesthebendingmomentatXwhenaloadisplacedatB(keepreadingitandlookatthe
examplebelowitwillmakesenseeventually!).Influencelinescanbeobtainedforbendingmoments,
shearforcesandreactions.
Abendingmomentinfluencelineisdrawnforonepointonlywhichmaynotnecessarilybethepoint
ofmaximumbending.Abendingmomentdiagram,bycomparisonwithainfluenceline,willgivethe
bendingmomentatallpointsforonepositionofload.
