ANTIQUE CARNIVAL

It has arrived the antique carnival, with the ‘polleras’

and ‘mosquetas’ its ‘tunas’ of Up Street Calle Arriba’
and its songs of Down Street ‘Calle Abajo’.

Carnival of watering and ‘culecos’ morningly, ardent sun

leaving the women bronze.

Flying bullets and artificial fires, with the coloring of the

Carnivals, and slowly were passing the ‘tunas’ by the
streets of the village.

And the smoke of the ‘fogon’ where it’s cook the ‘yuca’,
the pork and the ‘carimañola’; and that drunking
beverage for entoning the ‘saloma’.

And the old countryman, as well as the rich cattleman

united their mercily shouts called ‘ayes’ in order to
salute the antique carnival.

And the envolving drum, let’s hear the musical tones that
In union with the accordion gave life to the happiest
musical tones.

And we receive the midnoon with his cocks music’s; and the
encountering of Up Street and Down Street ‘Calle Arriba’
and ‘Calle Abajo’ framing with enormous exit the antique
Carnival.
