Brief Lesson Description:

Students will recognize what is the plants and animals characteristics are
inherited.

Performance Expectation(s):

Students will be able to know characteristics of an organism are inherited from the
parents of the organism, but other characteristics result from the individuals
interactions with the environment.
Specific Learning Outcomes:

Student will be able to understand how the environment can affect plant and animal
characteristic, explain that plants and animals inherit the characteristics that may
help them survive and reproduce

Using PowerPoint to show them pictures of animals, and the students will guess if
this animal are inherited the characteristics or learnt from the environment

Let them put circles on the important words of the text, and try to know the meaning
for each words of inherited and characteristic.
Put the important words on the PowerPoint, and let the students to give me the
detentions for each word such us inherited and characteristic.

EXPLAIN: Concepts Explained and Vocabulary Defined:


Vocabulary:

First of all, I will show them video to recognize on the new lesson will talk about what, and asking them
question through the video.

Then I will give each group one picture to tell me if its the animal inherited characteristic or learnt from
the environment.
Using power point to explain more the animal that I give it to them as group. And choose one students to
read the inherited characteristics to the animal and what it is learn from the environment.

I will show them each picture about three animals, and give each group one paper sheet to write
their answers on the questions that I will wrote on the board?
What is the characteristic for the turtle?
What is the characteristic for the bird?
What is the characteristic for the camel?

Give each students one paper include one animal, so each students will write the answer about what is
the characteristic for the animal.
Elaborate Further / Reflect: Enrichment:

Ask the students what the new information that they learn it today is.
Let them bring one small animal from the bookshop, and we will write about in the
next class.

Reflection:

This lesson was about the characteristic of an organism are inherited from
the parents of the organism, but the other characteristic result from an
individual`s interactions with the environment. So I used to show them video
about the inherited animal, and the other characteristic whish they learn from the
interactions with the environment. From this video I asking them questions about
what is the different between inherited animal and the animal that learned from
the interactions. Students was so excited to answer on me, because it was so easy
for them. In addition, I give them example on the human like the child learn how
to walk or its inherited, other example about the turtle like when the turtle feels
scare what is happen for it, and its inherited or learnt from the environment. So
this lesson was easy to the students, because they link it with the life experience.
