‘Though Ihave taken many dfferens education class, differentiation has beer the one constant
inal of them. Whether it was in my undergraduate program at Central Collage or in my master's
program at Drake University, differentiation has een the topic thar hes been taught 1 me ver and

as many students ax possible and help them.
For this assignment | decided to put iete action 2 plan tar an individual student that have, lordly
teach semester Glasses 201 jst received a full new group of students this last week to veork with, Cine of
the students that work with isin spectal educathan classes Baif of the thee and in gece! adhucation the
uther half of the time. She has academic struggles that des! with reading.and comprehension, Her
reading ability & at aS" grade level and she writes at about a 2” grade lavel. Some assignmert
strategles and steps that Ihave been doing include giving the student her work ahwasd of tiene,
shortening her assignments, providing teacher notes.co that she-can have them read before cass, aed
making up supplemental material, lke vocabulary sheets. Ihave abo been diHerensiating fer the whale
dass that shes in so that the way they lear each day is different: On Mondays we do se introduction
to the subject and | am the ane who does mast af the teaching. Tuesdays are spent cing partner work,
Wednesdays are made up of group work, for Thursday we spend time doing class discussion sn Friday
the students wark individually. Eoch week then changes what we do-on a ghven day. Aiso ench unir's
final assessment is differentiated in what the students can do.

tohelp this student succeed greatly in my class. also believe that it going to help many cahar
students in my class that | don't normally think about needing help. By difterentiating far the ane | can
