Description
Diagnostic Medical Sonography prepares students to conduct ultrasound examinations,
focusing on obstetrics and gynecology, abdomen and superficial structures, cardiac
sonography and vascular sonographic studies.
Students receive theoretical and clinical training in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography
program. Overall program goals and objectives are directly related to the National
Competency Profile (NCP) version 5.0, approved by Sonography Canada.

Residence Information
NAIT does not have residences on campus. However, MacEwan University will open their
residences to NAIT students if they have space. There are also many opportunities to rent
apartments or houses around the city. Although no meal plan is offered, NAIT has a NAIT
Food Express Card is a reusable card that can be loaded and used at any Food Services
location or at the Cash Office (Main Campus South Lobby), Bookstore, and Project Factory.
It is a fast, convenient way to enjoy breakfast, lunch or a coffee break without carrying
cash!
