Who wants to be a Veterinarian?

Objectives:

Student will understand what the job of a veterinarian is and be able to

describe it.
Student will explore ways to take care of a pet and use vocabulary words to

describe how to take care of the pet as well.


Student will be exposed to many different animals and different breeds of
animals through books and finger plays/songs

Vocabulary Words: waiting room, scale, prescription, grooming, checkup,


Veterinarian, x-ray, stethoscope, scrubs, thermometer, sick, examine

Open-ended questions:
1. What are some ways you can make this pet healthy and clean?
2. Why do you need to wear a mask and gloves when working with the pet?
3. How do you check to see if the pet has a broken bone? And how do you treat
the pet if it does have a broken bone?
4. Why do you have to give pets checkups? What do you do at a checkup?
5. What is your job as a veterinarian?
