WHAT WE STAND FOR;

At MacNeill School we believe we ALL want to be
the best we can be and do the best we can do. To
help one another be the best they can be, we have
made a commitment to be:
Bucket fillers
Respectful of one another and each others
belongings
Responsible for our own learning and
accepting of how others learn

PRINCIPALS MESSAGE
Term II is now underway, and we are rapidly
approaching the end of another calendar year. Since
the beginning of the school year, staff and members
of the School Community Council have been
developing our school Learning Improvement Plan.
The latest version of our plan will be available on our
school web site later this month please visit
http://macneill.rbe.sk.ca for more information.

We are entering into the holiday season and with that

comes the excitement and anticipation of the
festivities associated with it. For many people, the
holiday break provides an occasion to slow down,
reflect and be thankful for all that is important and
dear to us. It also gives us an opportunity to look
ahead to a new year with a sense of optimism and
hope - to dream about what could be in the world. It is
at this time of the year, perhaps more than any other
time, when we recognize the positive difference that
we can make in the lives of others through generosity
and good citizenship. At MacNeill School, we value
positive citizenship and believe in the spirit of
generosity.
As 2015 draws to a close, I would like
to take this opportunity to thank the
many parents and community
members who encourage and help our
students and staff. Success at
MacNeill School would not be
possible without your support.
Please note that the final day of school prior to the
winter vacation is Friday, December 18th all
students will be dismissed at 2:30 p.m. We return in
the New Year on Monday, January 4th, 2016.
On behalf of all staff, I extend best wishes to the
entire school community for a wonderful winter break
and a happy, prosperous and peaceful New Year.
From my family to yours, I wish you all a very Merry
Christmas!
Mrs. S. Beattie, Principal

The Canadian Red Cross RespectED program
supports a school-wide approach to preventing
bullying and building empathy and respect. The
program supports student leaders to facilitate bullying
prevention workshops, and model positive and
respectful relationships.
The MacNeill RespectED team members are student
leaders who will take part in different workshops and
activities throughout the year to help others take a
stand against bullying in our school and community.

This program complements the work done in our

classrooms, playground, lunchrooms and the homes in
our community to promote respectful behaviour.

We are proud to highlight the special activities

already arranged to support our anti-bullying efforts
at MacNeill School:

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Program with Ms. Gibsons

Child and Youth and Regina Public School
Counsellor, Mr. Penny.

PYLONS and DROPPING OFF CHILDREN
The green traffic cone pylons are put out each day to
remind drivers to not park, pull over or drop off
children in this zone.
As the weather turns colder, a number of family
members have been observed dropping off students
within this pylon zone.
Of particular concern are the vehicles
pulled over and dropping off students in the
crosswalk or three metres on either side of it.
This is a huge safety concern for all of our
students! Please help us to ensure child
safety and remind family members and
caregivers of this procedure as well.
STUDENT ABSENTEEISM
When a student is going to be away from school, the
procedure is as follows:
Call the office at 306-791-8507 or
Email: macneill@rbe.sk.ca
Inform the teacher
