School Counseling Calendar 2015-2016
August
Foundation Activities
Introduce ourselves to administration and faculty at first meeting.
Create and Administer student assessment survey to all students
Create School Counseling program geared towards needs of student population
Management Activities
Introduce ourselves to students and faculty to explain role of counselor
Send newsletter out to parents introducing the school counseling program and its purpose
(ongoing, monthly)
Delivery Activities
Assist in registering new students (ongoing, as needed)
Identify at risk students and meet with each one
Individual counseling sessions with students based on academic, personal/social, and
career issues
Schedule changes (ongoing, as needed)
Provide parents/ guardians with referrals to outside agencies to meet medical/ academic,/
basic needs (ongoing, as needed)
Make contact with community resources such as DHHR, shelters, & local mental health
facilities
