The title of the article reads Emma WATSON this tells the reader what the article
is about, without them having to read the article to find out who it is about. The
title is in bold, capitals and colourful font which draws the reader straight to the
title. Another thing that helps the reader identify what the article is about is the
close up image of Emma Watson which again takes the readers attention to her
bold red lipstick which is the same colour as the title, which shows there is a link
between image and article. The image of Emma Watson is very similar to the
image of Kate Moss on the front cover, the image is meant to draw the attention
in and take up most of the page. As I stated earlier Vogues images of the models/
actresses they use are either close ups or mid shots which links with the fact that
they are the main attention and dont want anything to distract the reader of the
topic of that person. Another colour link we see is the first letter of the article S
is also in the same shade of red which again links to the title as well as the image.
This article consists of a pull out quote which is usually in a different front with a
boarder separating the text from the quote so it stands out. This quote is usually
helpful to the readers as it shows an insight of what the article is about or Emma
Watsons person opinion that is very important towards the article that needs to
stand out. As you can see the pull out quote is in a bolder font then the rest of the
article.
The layout of the text is very similar. The layout is elegant which is what Vogue aim
their magazine to be like by the use of smart layouts.
The colour scheme for the page is quiet basic using only white, black and red. This
makes the reader know that the article is all connect as well as these colours
being smart and formal relate to how Vogue aim their target audiences self image
to be like. However Vogue use a lot of black, white and red throughout their text
as you will see on the next slide of the contents page.
The main heading is in a big bold font to capture the readers eye,
the font used is Vogues signature font that they use for their front
cover this reminds the readers that they are reading the genuine
Vogue magazine.
The main headings for each section are in bold and in red this
makes it easier for the readers to find the right page under each
section. However while theses are in bold the title for the actual
page and date of magazine are a lot smaller and out of the way so it
doesnt distract the readers from what they are searching for. I
believe they have located this in a good place as its just above the
main title that captures the readers eye. Having the date helps
remind the readers whether the issue is old or new which tells
them if the fashion trends are out of date. As the date only consists
of the month and year this tells new Vogue readers that the
magazine is published monthly.
The contents page also includes 3 pictures that draw the audience
in. These images will tell the audience a slight insight on what they
may expect to see inside this issue. As the first image is a lot bigger
than others this symbolises that it may be a more important story
or cover. While the other two images are lot smaller.
Again you see the neat and elegant columns of text instead of a big
block of writing. This makes it more appealing to the readers to
read as they may lose interest reading a block of writing.
The colour scheme is Vogues signature red, white and black. This
colour scheme as I said previously is elegant and sophisticated as
this is what Vogue aim their magazine to be like as they are a high
quality and popular fashion magazine.
