childrens learning style to improve the plan according to the specific needs of the
students.

Describe the connection between the research and the plans goals.
The connection between the research and plans goal is overlapping that students
will master in the knowledge of existing and emerging technology at the same
time they will be life-long learners. The plan and the research indicate that every
student must be able to access to technological high quality of instructional
materials which arranged according to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
Describe information gathered from site visits, including best practices.
Administrators and computer teachers in the school attended to the meeting which
was hold with the other campuses around our school, the proposal of the
technology plan presented and ever body give their considerations with adding
and omitting the components to get a best practice to apply.
CURRICULUM COMPONENT CRITERIA.
The Plan must establish clear goals and realistic strategy for using
telecommunications and information technology to improve education services.

Describe teachers' current access to instructional technology and current use of


digital tools.
1- Is technology currently available to all students?
With the classroom technology, all students have the chance of technology
availability in their classroom. According to that in each classroom there is a
projection device, data projector for multimedia applications, internet display,
and software introduction and use.
2- How are hardware and software currently being used in classrooms at
each grade level and in each content area?
At DHS, software that is currently in use are Microsoft Office, Geometry
Sketchpad, and Pasco Science Probes, Adobe CS Premium, MS Office Specialist
Testing Program, COIN and various assisted learning software programs. Also,
there are secondary digital resources and online subscriptions available ;
Discovery Education Streaming, netTrekker, Gale Cengage, Teachingbooks.net,
World Book, Maps 101, NoveList, Gale Opposing Biography/Viewpoints in
Context, ABC-Clio. Gaggle student email, Turnitin.com, Compass Learning,
Atomic Learning and Learning.com for Technology Applications TEKS,
Technology Literacy Assessment, Aha Math and Aha Science.
Describe students' current access to instructional technology and current use of
digital tools. Include a description about the LEA policy, practices, and/or
replacement policy that ensures equitable technology access for all students.
1-Is technology currently available to all students?
Technology is available for all students so that every classroom is equipped with
computer and every student is given the login information which is specialized for
the school domain. Each classroom has a projection device in the form of a
ceiling mounted data projector for multimedia applications, internet display, and
software introduction and use. All schools have distributed video system
capabilities.
2- How is technology being used by students in the library media center and
labs?
The library service provides a wide variety of services and resources, both print
and electronic, to meet the instructional goals of the Fort Bend ISD learning
community -- students, teachers, staff, parents, and administrators.

our library collections with the purchase of Nooks. District wide we have added
approximately 1057 Nooks with varying purchased content to exceed 11,000

Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for using
technology to improve teaching and learning. Describe how these goals align to
the LEA's curricular goals that are supported by other plans. Describe how the
LEA's budget (LCAP) supports these goals, and whether future funding
proposals or partnerships may be needed for successful implementation.
1- How will your curricular goals and needs influence your technology
goals?
The curricular goals and needs will determine what technology should be used
on what kind of population. For example, for the special reading needs of
students in need of special attention, the selected application which addresses
the needs will be utilized by using their i-Pads that are provided by the school
for 1-1 learning.
2- How will technology be used to create more powerful learning
experiences to improve student academic achievement?
DHS Technology Team will provide mobile technology in order to promote
the available computer opportunities for technology-integrated curriculum
activities. Also, the classroom interactive-tools will be increased in number.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, to address
Internet Safety and the appropriate and ethical use of technology in the
classroom.
1- What LEA board policies will be or have been developed to implement
Internet safety instruction?
Web-based lectures are created to address the TEKS objectives for every grade
and subject areas and the lecture, Internet Safety, Cyberbullying and Digital
Citizenship, added for the safety instruction.
2- How are students using online communication technologies, including but
not limited to social networking and instant messaging?
From 6th through 12th grade, all students are given the individualized email
account. It allows teachers and students communicate and collaborate easily. The
product that are being used for this reason is Office 365 is a Microsoft, which
includes other online products that are helpful for the students, such as Contacts,
Calendar, Tasks, and Sway, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. With this product
including the interface of dashboard, students can access their work in any time

and place, and teacher can load instructions on the website for the students later
use.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPONENT


The Plan must have a professional development strategy to ensure that staff
understands how to use these new technologies to improve education services
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Summary of the teachers' and administrators' current technology proficiency and


integration skills and needs for professional development.
1- Are administrators able to support teachers with the integration of
technology into daily curriculum?
Administrators are providing support to teachers by offering them technology
leadership opportunities through local, state, and national technology-related
professional development. Moreover, mentoring and modeling form of support
are being served to the teachers to get knowledgeable and practical about
technology skills and integrating technology strategies in differentiated manner
according to needs.
2- What do teachers and administrators consider as their needs for
professional development?
The need for professional development as teachers considers is to be able to
integrate the Technology Applications TEKS K-12 into the default curriculum and
to assess the result. Staff development which based on job requirements is another
need. The other need is the technological support to implement ITIL- Information
Technology Infrastructure Library- compliant information technology service
management system and improvement for the connectivity in order to support
teaching and learning.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for providing
professional development opportunities based on your LEA needs assessment
data and the Curriculum Component of the plan.
1- What professional learning will be available so teachers and
administrators can effectively use technology to assist with student
assessment?

Public Consulting Group is the recent system for Instructional Management


and Assessment in district. This system is used to provide a common
curriculum online for all FBISD teachers and assessment items for most
subject areas. (Fort Bend ISD Technology Plan)
2- How will teachers and administrators be trained and provided on-going
support in the effective integration of technology into the curriculum?
Provide professional development experiences that incorporate higher-order
thinking skills and student centered projects while using technology as a tool
for increasing student achievement. (Fort Bend ISD Technology Plan)
INFRASTRUCTURE, HARDWARE, TECHNICAL SUPPORT, SOFTWARE, AND
ASSET MANAGEMENT COMPONENT CRITERIA
The Plan must include an assessment of the telecommunication services,
hardware, software, asset management, and other services that will be needed to
improve education services.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe the existing hardware, Internet access, electronic learning resources,


technical support, and asset management already in the LEA that will be used to
support the Curriculum and Professional Development Components of the plan.
1- What technologies are available to facilitate home/school communication
such as email, web pages, and voice mail?
Providing the easy access to the communication between home and school id
very important to be successful on the main goal which is to give qualified
education to every student. The software that facilitates the communication is
Skywards Family Access. Attendance, grades, schedules and calendars are
available to view for the students and parents. In addition to that make their
online course registration. The access to the website is always available
wherever the Internet connection exists.
2- What is the capacity and configuration of networks in the LEA? Are any
areas not connected to the network?
The WAN connectivity is managed through a pair of large Cisco data
switches. All Fort Bend campuses are connected to the Administration
Building by high speed fiber lines. Each location is currently running at 1 GB
full duplex. Each site is connected via T1s in standby mode as backup
connectivity. The district is installing a second 1 GB connection at each
location to address increase bandwidth demands from video and BYOD

Describe the technology hardware, electronic learning resources, networking and


telecommunications infrastructure, physical plant modifications, technical
support, and asset management needed by the LEA's teachers, students, and
administrators to support the activities in the Curriculum and Professional
Development components of the plan.
1- Are the bandwidth and infrastructure sufficient to support the plan or
to make use of emerging technologies?
In order to provide sufficient bandwidth, DHS technology team maintain
standard of 802.11N.
2- What filtering software will be used to prevent staff or student access
to inappropriate Internet sites?
8e6 filter with Cisco Next Generation Firewall is on use to protect the children
any harmful websites.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION COMPONENT


The plan must include an evaluation process that enables the school to monitor
progress toward the specific goals and make mid-course corrections in response
to new developments and opportunities as they arise.

Describe the process for evaluating the plan's overall progress and impact on
teaching and learning.
1- What indicators of success will be used to evaluate whether
implementation of the plan has made a positive impact on student
achievement?
The indicators of successful implementing the technology plan are Evidence of
Completion which is included in the section of Goals, Objectives, and Strategies that
is one of the four identified goals of the e-Plan.

2- Who will participate in the monitoring and evaluation process?

The IT Division Leaders in FBISD will monitor and evaluate progress of


implementing the technology plan through the campus.
Describe the schedule for evaluating the effect of plan implementation, including
a description of the process and frequency of communicating evaluation results
to tech plan stakeholders.
1- How often will data be collected and summarized? Who is responsible?
The IT Leadership Committee along with the additional planning team
members will evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of the
technology plan both monthly and annually.
2- How will technology success stories be documented and publicized?
Evaluations outcome will be published on Technology Portal.
