largestscrapmetalsaletodate,andthenextwemightbediggingamassgraveforcountless
bodies.Thisisaveryhighintensityenvironment,andwetryandrunoffofminimalregulations
inordertomaintainasliteamoodaspossible.
Wedoaskthatallofouremployeesmaintainprofessionalconductwhendealingwithcustomers.
Wewantourcustomerstoenjoytheirexperiencehere.Wealsoaskthatforbodyordersthat

arelargerthan50,wearegivena24hournoticesothatwemaypreparethepropersizedgrave.
Itallowsforasmoothertransactionforthecustomer.
Concerningsalvage,wemaintainanoreturnpolicy.Regardlessofthereasonforthecustomer
wantingarefund,weoffernosuchservice.Allscrapmetalsalesarefinal.Alsowhencustomer
comestoviewthescrapmetalwehave,oneofouremployeesisrequiredtoassiststhecustomer
inanywaypossiblewhetherthatbetransportingthecustomerstoadifferentareaofthefacility
orsimplyhelpingthemtoloadthethingstheyfortransport.
BuildingCodes
BusinessessuchastheSingerSalvageYard,haveveryoddbuildingcodes,becausethere
areveryfewplaces(ifany)thatoffertheserviceswedo.

426.2.2Steeldoors.Steeldoorsshallbeaminimumnominalthicknessofoneandthree
fourthsinches(134)andshallhaveaminimalskinthicknessof24gauge.
426.4.2Locks.Swingingdoorsshallbeprovidedwithasinglecylinderdeadboltlocking
device(keyedonexterioronly)withaminimumprojectionofoneinch(1").The
deadboltshallpenetrateatleastthreefourthsinch(3/4")intothestrikereceivingthe
projectedbolt.Thecylindershallhaveatwistresistant,taperedhardenedsteelcylinder
guard.Thecylindershallhaveaminimumoffive(5)pintumblers,shallbeconnectedto
theinnerportionofthelockbysolidmetalconnectingscrewsatleastonefourthinch
(1/4")indiameterandtwoandonefourthinches(21/4")inlength.Theboltassembly
(bolthousing)unitshallbeofsinglepiececonstruction.AlldeadboltsshallmeetANSI
grade2specifications.
426.6.1Frontandstreetsideexteriorlighting.Alldoorsshallbeprotectedwitha
minimumofonelightingoutletprovidingaminimumof60wattlighting(orenergy
efficientequivalent).
426.6.2Lightingprotection.Lightingoutletsrequiredbythissectionshallbelocateda
minimumofeightfeet(8)abovegradeoradjacentwalkingsurfaceaccessiblefrom
grade,orshallbeofatypemanufacturedsuchthatthelightbulbisnotreadilyaccessible.
MustuseUVARbulbsthroughoutthepropertytoensurethevisibilityofghostsand
hauntedindividuals.
1004.3Postingofoccupantload.Everyroomorspacethatisanassemblyoccupancy
shallhavetheoccupantloadoftheroomorspacepostedinaconspicuousplace,nearthe
mainexitorexitaccessdoorwayfromtheroomorspace.Anyholeorareacreatedfor
bodydisposalmustbeofadequatesizeaccordingtostatelaw.Thegravesmustalsobe
markedclearlywithsignage.Postedsignsshallbeofanapprovedlegiblepermanent
designandshallbearthefollowing:thesignatureofthebuildingofficial,thenumberof
occupantspermittedforeachroomuse,theoccupancygroupofthespace,andtheyearof
thecodeineffectattimeofapproval.Postedsignsshallbemaintainedbytheowneror
authorizedagent.
3303.4Warningsigns.Signsarerequiredtobepostedalloverthepropertytowarn
individualsabouttheghoststhatinhabittheestablishment.Whenrequired,demolition

jobsshallbeprovidedwithdangersigns,whichshallbeconspicuouslypostedaroundthe
property.
3303.5Lights.Betweensunsetandsunrise,adequatelightsshallbeprovidedtoproperly
protectpersonsandpropertyfromhazardsofpits,excavations,fences,barriers,
equipment,buildingmaterialsorrubbishin,uponornearasidewalkorstreet.All
walkwaysshallbeprovidedwithlightsasfollows:
3303.5.1Amberlights,withcapacityofatleast100watts,onthestreetsideofthe
walkwayatbothendsandnearthecorner.
3303.5.2otherlightingconsistingof60wattlightsspacedeverytenfeetalongthe
walkway.
3303.7Rubbishandwaste.Alladjacentstreets,alleysandotherpublicwaysandplaces
shallbekeptfreeandclearofallrubbish,refuseandloosematerialresultingfromthe
moving,demolitionordemolitionoperations.
3303.8Fences.Thebuildingofficialmayrequirethatafencebeconstructedonoraround
anydemolitionsite,whendeemednecessarytoprotectthepublic.
