Lego in the Library

Radnor Memorial Library:

Hosts monthly Lego Club

Loose theme every month

Creates book display on theme, selects a book to read for each session

Provides images for inspiration

Eventually allows free build

Logan Libraries:

Focuses on literacy connections

Reads story such as 3 Little Pigs and then have kids build characters and settings from the story

Takes pictures of kids and their creations which are posted to Facebook. This acts as a form of
promotion for the next program.

Show Me Librarian Blog:

Provides a predictable schedule such as the last Monday of the month

Selects a theme for each session but allows kids to build whatever they want

Kids' creations are displayed in the library between sessions

Toowamba Lego Literacy Club:

Focuses on literacy connections

Uses labelmaker to put words or letters on the sides of Legos. Kids can use them to make words, poems
or stories

Ealing Libraries:

STEM focused activities

LEGO are used in programs focusing on engineering, robotics, coding and stop motion movies

Starnet Libraries:

Age restricted, targeting a specific age group

Each session features a theme though kids can free build as well

LEGO creations go on display in between each session

Kids title and describe their creations on an index card for display

Advertising includes working with local schools

New Albany Library:

Hold annual LEGO Day

LEGO bricks are available for free building

Games involving LEGO are provided such as LEGO ski-ball and a brick matching memory game
