Subject: Topic Proposal and Research Questions Memo

For my Community Problem Report, I have decided to focus on one of the main issues which
countries all around the world currently face. Educational Issues have, are and will be around for
many years due to the many factors which contribute to it. I have decided to focus my semester
research on this issue due to a strong belief in which education is the foundation to an effective
global relationship among humans. My goal is to navigate deeply through all of our current
educations components to investigate which factors affect such, along with its outcomes to
ultimately determine the impact of education on our society.

As I begin my research, I asked myself broad questions on the topic which will serve as my base,
in order to open a trail which will lead me to unfold more specific and narrowed questions. As
described in the annotated bibliography, in order to conduct an effective research these questions
must be unbiased and broad in order to gain all perspectives on the matter. Some of my chosen
questions include: What is education?, What are the impacts and results of education? On
who?, Which are the factors that impact education? How? , and finally How can education
improve?. Education involves not only the scholarly aspect, but also the environments in which
we live outside of school. Because of this, these general questions which will lead the way to
gather specific and effective information on the issue.

The reason why I chose to focus my research on education issues is due to my interest in how it
affects individuals and how interactions among people are impacted with the influence of it.
Educational views vary; while some people believe that the most important type of education
comes from within the family, others believe that it comes strictly from education institutions,
some others believe that a good education derives from a balance between both, and some
believe that education comes from experiences rather than from a book. These are all very
different types of attaining education, and each come with their own different outcome.
Throughout my research I will discuss how education impacts societies throughout the world,
and how various issues affect the way that education is given to us, in hopes of providing my
audience with awareness on how it works.
