Big Idea:

Not only is dance a fun form of exercise which incorporates the entire body and utilizes
motion, coordination and endurance, there are many other benefits of learning dance. Dance
teaches us to be cooperative and work within a group or partner setting as we learn to
take turns, share attention, and learn valuable social skills. It helps us to be more creative
thinkers and be able to communicate with others in a variety of ways. Dance teaches us
discipline and commitment, as well as the ability to learn about music, rhythm and beat.
