MECHANICAL INTEGRITY PROGRAM


REQUIREMENTS
Each operating unit shall maintain a list/database of
affected piping systems, the category of the line/system
and the basis of the categorization.
Designs are per BASF Technical Standards, pipe service
indexes, ASME/ANSI Standards (BE31.1, B31.3, ETC.),
and design/fabricating/operating experience.

Inspection/Test Procedures are based upon BC032.018


Inspection and Testing of Vessels, N-P-MC-105
Stationary Equipment and Piping Systems Inspection
Procedures, API-570 Code, BASF Technical Standards,
and operating/inspection experience. Test methods are
based upon ASNT-TC-1A, and BASF Technical
Standards.
Inspection/Test frequencies are based upon BC032.018
Inspection and Testing of Vessels, N-P-MC-105
Stationary Equipment and Piping Systems Inspection
Procedures.
The principles of the applicable ASME/ANSI Code
(B31.1, B31.3, ETC.), as well as BASF Technical
Standard requirements, shall be used to determine if
repairs are needed.

Inspection/Test documentation is maintained in the


equipment file for each pipe system.

Procedures are based upon the API-570 Code, and


repair/alteration experience.
