What is writers voice?
The writers voice is the specific style, diction, punctuations, and context that a writer
prefers to use within a piece of work
Why write in different genres? What type of genre of writing will you be doing: in school? In
your career? Other?
We write in different genres because it allows you to portray your idea and main focus in
a narrower pathway. Mostly within my life including school, career, and etc., I will be
writing mainly in a narrative because it is most comfortable to use and specific styles of
writing are not required within my area of study.
In your major, what style are you supposed to use?
Within my major, a majority of my writing will use an MLA style in order to write
reports.
What is rhetorical situation?
A rhetorical situation is a problem that needs to be solved, which is usually created by the
writer as a rhetorical question for the audience.
What genre do you most often write in?
In contrary to what most people believe, I believe that music is a genre of writing of
which I practice the most. I believe that music is a genre because it requires critical
thinking, a roadmap of plans, and has to flow very well without errors.
What is your purpose?
The purpose of my style of writing is to entertain the audience, to entertain myself as the
writer, and to be able to create a continuation.
Do you think of your audience?
Whenever I write, I think about the audience because sometimes, my message cannot be
sent through clearly and although the writing may sound good to me, it may sound very
edgy and erroneous to others.
Where do you go for evidence?

When I look for evidence to support my ideas, I will typically start with the standard
google search, which will spread out towards the encyclopedia, books, and other
websites.
Do you use prewriting techniques?
As I write music, I create a roadmap of transitions which will be filled in by the melody.
Write a short paragraph directed toward me about your expectations in this class
During the semester of UWRT 1102, my expectations seem to be a bit similar to how I
felt about UWRT 1101. From the introductory class, I feel as if the class period will be
extremely interactive, writing extensive, but extremely fun. Although there may have
been some long narratives and essays to write, in the end, the process is tedious yet fun.
Rewrite the short paragraph in a text to a close friend. How do they differ?
Yo, this class seems fun. At least its not ****ing hard or anything but w/e. As long as I
can have a chill *** class, Im glad.
The two writing styles displayed above differ a lot due to the informality shown in the second
option along with the use of acronyms.
