Step 1: Part Preparation

Obtain the Top and Bottom halves of the part.


(ensure both halves are free of flash and any
other excess wax)
Using a hot, sharp scalpel or knife, wax weld the
two halves of the part together on the inside and
outside. (Parts must be flush with one another)

Step 1: Part Preparation (SPC)


Measure one side of the part as shown in figure "a"
and record the data.

Step 1: Part Preparation

Using an eye Dropper, fill the wax welds with


patch wax (Both inside and out)

Using a scraper with the extension removed,


scrap over the fill created by the patch wax to
remove any excess wax, ensure that the surface
is smooth.

Step 1: Part Preparation


Paint over the tool marks on the bottom and top
corners of the part as well as the injection marks
on the sides of the part.

Scrape the excess wax off and ensure that the


surface is flat

Once all excess patch wax has been removed, clean all
outside surfaces with a small amount of Trewax and a
scotch brite pad.

Serialize the part per the instructions in the


figure.

Step 2: Part Gating

Attach 13 X #5 single cone gates to the areas


shown in figure 1 using a hot knife.

Attach 4 X #4 triple cone gates to the areas


shown in figure 1 using a hot knife.

Attach the #6 X 1/4 diameter extrusion gates to


the areas shown in figure 1 using a hot knife.
(Inside square)
Attach the #7 5/16 extrusion gates to the areas
shown in figure 1 using a hot knife. (Outside
square)
Note: Apply gates in the most convenient order

Serial # starts at the 4th web from the right. The red line
shows the position of the wax on the table. The "G" of
the serial # starts above the 4th web. Serial number
height to be .125. No double stamping of serial

Step 3: Base Preparation


Heat a bolt with a nut on the end and create a
bolt hole in the center bottom of the base 2-1/4"
deep.
Note: (If the center wall caves, stop and let
base cool then rebuild wall and continue
making the bolt hole)

2-1/4" deep

Combine the 8 #1 custom gates together to make


4 3"x 3" squares.

Step 3: Base Preparation


Add the 3" x 3" squares to the position shown in
figure 1. Make sure to fill the corners in with
wax.

Using a hot knife. Wax weld the edges of the
plates in the base to ensure they are properly
secure.

Run the entire base over the hot plate to make it


smooth.

Step 4: Final Assembly


Run the entire part, gate down, over the hot plate
till the surface is level and mount it to the center
of the base using sticky wax.
Small Diameter

Dip seal all four of the corner gates taking note


that 2 gates have a small diameter end and 2
gates have a larger diameter end as shown in the
picture.

Step 4: Final Assembly

Attach the corner gates as shown in the picture.

a. Attach the large diameter corner gates to position 1


b. Attach the small diameter corner gates to position 2

Wrap the small diameter corner gates with


spaghetti wax as shown

Dip seal to this point

Item

Dip seal the entire base up to mid gate on the part.

Add pour cup and 4-1/2" bolt with a hex end or


nut. Fill the cup with wax leaving 3/4" bolt
showing.

Step 4: Final Assembly


Using a hot knife, melt the spaghetti wax all
around the corner gates to form a smooth seal.

Step 4: Final Assembly

Add four vents as shown using 1" x 3/4" extrusions.

Add four test bars to position shown. Make sure


tail end of test bar is pointing in.
