I chose to do my activity using Voki, because after watching the video I was really curious to see
how it worked. I thought that this might be a more interesting way for grading assignments. I
chose to use Voki for an English assignment for 5th graders to read a text and then be able to
identify the moral and provide a summary. I didnt like how limited the character options were,
because ideally I would have wanted to be able to grade students on the appearance of their
avatar based on the descriptions given by the story, I assumed that it would have been a similar
program to the SIMS. In general I think applying these tools in the class would make things more
fun for students, because they can be creative while answering basic and boring questions.
Other tools that I liked were Wiki and the classroom guru. I like when teachers have us
use wiki in class, and I think that everyone being able to work together would be a good way for
getting group projects done without having to work outside of class together. Classroom Guru
allows teachers to keep record of students activity, attendance, and behaviors. Having a single
location to track all of this information would make data tracking much easier.
