Portfolio Requirements and Specifications Cover Sheet:

_x__ This Cover Sheet must be completed and posted on Moodle as a .docx file prior to the
portfolio deadline. Be sure ALL links are active and all required components are complete to
ensure a passing grade. Proofread carefully. Cover Sheets submitted in non .docx or unreadable
or corrupted format or with an inactive hyperlink to the portfolio will receive a grade of 0.
_x__ The Portfolio must be electronically and publically accessible via the hyperlink provided
here, which should serve as its home page, laying out the manner in which readers should engage

_x__ The portfolio layout must resemble in layout the instructors example provided (tool bar
with assigned headings). (Note the SLIP project can and should assume a separate layout
appropriate to its content and purpose.)
__x_ The portfolio must include an Introductory Essay that engages each of our Student
Learning Outcomes (SOLs listed in our Syllabus), explaining your understanding of each
threshold concept and demonstrating how you have achieved each outcome. Cite examples from
the work you have done in this class this semester, using images when helpful or appropriate.
Please put the threshold concepts in italics and be sure to address each one individually. In the
syllabus, the outcomes are listed for each SLO. Be sure to address each of these. (Minimum
1000 words.)
_x__ The portfolio must include a Reflective Essay that Engages the Process and Product of
the Semester-Long Inquiry Project. Here, you will document the process of creation that
underlies your final portfolio, taking care to outline the manner in which the final portfolio was
achieved and being mindful of any changes that occurred in your approach or thinking along the
way. Be sure this essay discusses the SLIP, the CCs, the Introduction and the Reflective essay as
well as your use of the sketch book in this class. Use quotes and pictures from your Process
journals whenever possible. The purpose here is to document your approach to the final portfolio
here. Be critical and reflective as you reexamine the work you have done this semester.
(Minimum 1000 words.)
_x__ The portfolio must include 3 polished and completed Creative Challenges (CCs).
Please write a brief introduction to your three stories and post them into your portfolio (all three)
in one page. Please do not include the parenthetical citations in this draft of your CCs.
_x__ No component in your entire portfolio should be larger than 5,000 KB. Larger files may
be attached as READ MORE links but that material will not be considered except tangentially
in the assessment of the portfolio.
_x__ Fonts should be standard, clear and legible. Font colors should contrast with background
and font color to ensure readability. Paragraph-sized text should be in a very dark font on a very
light background, preferably black on white. Explain why you chose the fonts you chose for

your SLIP final project here: The fonts I chose were just standard, default fonts. I decided
to keep them since they were easy to read and were very clean looking on the page.
_x__ Color should be used to enhance your text but without disrupting readability or
overpowering the other images. Explain how you use color in your SLIP final project here: I
use color in my SLIP final project through pictures so the reader doesnt get too lost in the
text.

with a link if possible. ) In Weebly, I used several of the home, about, and services templates to
start out with. I then edited each one for accommodations.

If you use animation or videos of any sort, be sure that they do not take an excessive
amount of time to load (excessive being more than 30 seconds) or watch (3:30 minutes max for
entire portfolio).

creation, please explain what you did here: ) I did not use any programming.
_x__ The portfolio must include more than one image. Explain how you use images in your
SLIP final project here: My portfolio is covered in pictures, more in some places than
others. I used images to decorate pages as well as to get my own work out there. This
project is about emotions and there are always emotions behind pictures; pictures do say a
thousand words.
__x_ Images should be of reasonable quality and appropriate size and should be titled or
captioned, citing all sources (when available) with captions that stand out in a slightly different
font than the rest of the text. Images of your own making do not need to be cited but you may
wish to do so for various reasons.
_x__ The portfolio must include a polished multimedia version of your final Semester-Long
Inquiry Project (SLIP) which follows the rules below:
__x_ The final SLIP project must include an introduction of some kind explaining what
you hope to achieve in the final SLIP project.

The final SLIP project must make use of sound. Explain how your SLIP final
project uses sound here: I made use of sound in this project by putting music to the
video I made.

The final SLIP project must include movement. Explain how your SLIP final
project uses movement here: I included movement in this project by making a video
of myself creating my project.

The final SLIP project must include alphabetic writing in English. Explain how
you use alphabetic writing in your SLIP final project here: I used alphabetical

writing in English in my final project by including an intro and summary on my


final inquiry page about my topic.

The final SLIP project must be interactive. Explain how your SLIP final
project is interactive here: I was able to make my project an interactive piece of art
and used it to talk to other people about sleep and emotions.
_x__ The final SLIP project must be multimodal. Explain how your SLIP final
project is multimodal here: My final project is multimodal because I used music,
pictures, video, and word documents embedded into my website.

The final SLIP project must make use of writing you have done this semester.
Explain how your SLIP final project incorporates writing you have done this
semester: To include pieces of my writing this semester, I took screenshots of the SLIP
entry when I realized what my inquiry project was going to be about.

The final SLIP project must demonstrate what you consider to be some of your
best writing abilities. Explain where your best writing abilities are demonstrated in
your SLIP final project hereinclude images, hyperlinks, screen shots, etc.: I
included my best work from this class on my Creative Challenges page where I
hyperlinked my work onto different pages through the website I created.
__x_ All sources and components used must be credited to their author(s), preferably
by a direct link to the primary electronic text used or a standard bibliographic citation for
a hard copy text. Artifacts must be described and pictured if possible. Please be mindful
in choosing your sources. Explain how outside sources function in your SLIP final
project here: I used an outside link in my Final Outcomes section on my Final
Inquiry tab to lead the readers to explore into more information about sleep and
how important it is if you want your body to function properly.

portfolio under the appropriate tab Specs and Reqs.
