(e.)Isthissomethingwhichyoumightdowithyourstudents?
Iwouldpersonallydothiswithmystudents.Notonlywouldstudentslearnhowgeogebra
works,buttheywouldalsolearnthatfromsimplepropertiesonecancreateothershapes.

2.Square1

BystartingwithEuclidsProposition1,startingwithaline(AB)andcreatingthecircles,Iwas
abletocreateverticalperpendicularlinesfrompointBandpointA,Ithenproceededtocreate
twopointstangenttothecirclespointCandpointD.Thisallowedmetocreateahorizontal
perpendicularlinefrompointC,andendupwithanequilateralsquare.
A

and2rightangles.
SegmentABinthiscasehasaradiusof4units.SincepointAisthecenterpointofcircle
ABD,thatmakessegmentADalso4units(radiusaswell).SameforsegmentBC.
Therefore,segmentsAB,AD,andBCareallequalsides.Inaddition,twoperpendicular
lineswerecreatedfrompointAandB,thuscreating90angles.
A
Lambertsquare

sidesand3rightangles.
FromEuclidsProposition1.postulate3anddefinition15,segmentsABandADare
equal.ThuscreatingverticalperpendicularlinesfrompointAandBtwo90angles
werecreated.ThencreatingahorizontalperpendicularlinefrompointCcreatesanother
90anglesatisfyingaLambertSquare.

A

AgainreferringbacktoEuclidsProposition1,postulate3anddefinition15,segmentAB
isequaltosegmentsADandAC.ThusmakingsegmentDCequaltosegmentAB.
HorizontalperpendicularlinefrompointAcreatesarightangle.
