Teach?
During the fall semester of 2015, I enrolled in a class called CT
200. This class was an introduction to technology class, which as a new
teacher, was very appealing to me. I had no idea that by the end of the
semester, I would have gained so much knowledge about different
types of technology that would better my teaching for the years to
come. As a math teacher, technology is a tool that can really help me
reach all the different types of learners in my classroom. To begin any
lesson, in order to find fun interesting ways to teach a certain topic, I
can look on Pinterest to gather together some fun ideas. I can also use
technology to create a visual learning tool, such as a web, in order to
show students how different topics relate and use as a nice review tool.
In order to make the lesson more engaging, I can also make a SMART
Notebook presentation in order to have the students interact with the
lesson. Or, I can make a video about the lesson, have the students
view the lesson from home and then use class time to answer more
questions (this is a flipped classroom). To review before an assessment,
we can play Kahoot! and have fun while reviewing at the same time.
Then, I can use Google Forms to make the assessment, which can help
me grade and export the data into an organized Google Sheet. All this
can be ended by having the students complete a project, such as a
digital storytelling project, to summarize what they have learned. So as
you can see, there are so many ways to incorporate technology into a
When we talk about a2 that is the same thing as the area of a square.
So, if we make 3 squares with areas a2 , b2 , and c2, if we add a2+b2 or
put those 2 squares together, it is exactly the same as c2. Thus, the
Pythagorean Theorem is proven true. To conclude, the Pythagorean
Theorem is an extremely important theorem in mathematics. It can be
used to solve a variety of problems, which makes it very well known to
the majority of high school students. Although it cannot be proved who
was the first to discover this theorem, nor if Pythagoras was truly the
first to prove it true, the Pythagorean Theorem will remain the name,
and Pythagoras remains a very notable mathematician in history.
