Request for Approval of Research Project

The purpose of this memo is to formally request approval of my research

project topic. I am interested in examining various issues or problems that
employees encounter in communicating with executives in their profession.
This memo will explain why this subject interests me and applies to me, as
well as outline what research I have conducted, and explain what research
and solutions remain to be completed in order to fix this gap in
communication.
Problem:
This subject is especially interesting to me personally for several reasons.
I have worked at numerous jobs where I have noticed there is a
gap between me as an employee, and corporate executives.
My dad has worked as an executive for numerous years and has
discussed with me the gap in which it sometimes become
difficult to communicate with his employees he oversees.
I am interested in knowing how this issue can be fixed so I can
hopefully help the issue when I start working in a high position
one day to better my company.

Objective:
The objective of this proposal is to propose a have already located several
books and scholarly articles that will provide some expert perspectives on
this issue. I also plan on conducting my own empirical research by
interviewing both employees and executives and get their opinions on this
pressing issue. Once my research is completed to see both an insiders and
outsiders perspective, I can then conduct ways to stop this from further
becoming an issue.

The first step needed to examine where the gaps are and find ways to fill
those gaps in. As discussed there are numerous ways to fix these gaps and
strengthen corporations as whole and better relationships between
employees and executives. I then plan to come up with a plan to have some
employees and executives meet (not all is realistic). From there we can build
a plan to fill this gap between the two to create a stronger relationship and
grow the company.

Schedule:
Week 1: Meet with multiple employees and executive members to
hear their view and see what their solutions are
Week 2: Have employees and executive members meet together to
talk and come up with solutions to fix the gap
Week 3: Begin weekly executive board meetings
Week 4: Begin weekly employee meetings with information from
executive meetings
Qualification: While I may not have ever had the qualification of an
executive, I have had the experience of an employee itself. For something
such as this, I dont think I specifically need executive experience to mend
this gap. I think I more need experience in communication (which I have) and
experience as someone from the bottom who doesnt always get the right
information from the higher ups.
Cost: The main cost of this proposal is time. There also may need to be
some extra budgeting for team meetings with employees to make sure all
information is given properly at all times and all employees and executive
members are on the same page. I believe about an hour every other week
for employee meetings may be beneficial. Extra time from management for
planning meetings may need to be put into this as wel
