Run Windows server batch commands from OS/400

You can use OS/400 to remotely submit Windows server batch commands. Windows ser
ver commands
that can run in batch mode without user interaction will work.
Before submitting a remote command verify that the following is true:.
v The server is an Integrated xSeries Server on this OS/400 and is active.
v
Your user profile is enrolled to the Windows server or domain, or you sign on wi
th the QSECOFR
profile.
v You have authority to run SBMNWSCMD, which requires *JOBCTL special authority.
You must also
have at least *USE authority to the QSYS/SBMNWSCMD *CMD object.
v The system value, QRETSVRSEC, must be set to 1, and users must sign on to OS/4
00 after the
system value is set.

v The OS/400 user profile password, and Windows password must be equivalent. The
easiest way to
keep them consistent is to use User and Group enrollment. For more information,
see Administer
Windows server users from OS/400 on page 98.
Also, before submitting a remote command, refer to Considerations for running Win

commands from OS/400 .
To run Windows batch commands by using iSeries Navigator, follow these steps:
1. Select Network.
2. Select Windows Administration.
3. Select Integrated xSeries Servers.
4. Right-click on the server on which to run the batch command and select Run Wi
ndows Command.
5. On the Run Windows Command panel, type the Windows command to run (such as di
r \).
Tip: You can select the command from a list of 10 commands that you have run pre
viously on the
server.
6. Click OK to run the command.

Note: A command using the Run Windows Command panel uses *PRIMARY as the authent
ication
domain. For alternative domains use SBMNWSCMD
