COMMITMENTS MADE

610 acres of land acquired in Tumkur near Bangalore; Land survey completed

Procurement activity for all basic equipment / Systems

Procurement commitment of Rs 149.23 Cr has been made so far.

HAL is funding about Rs 52 Crs for developmental activities for adaptations and testing
required for engine for LUH

Invested around 50 Crs in the establishment of dedicated development and system test
facilities

Development of Rotor and Transmission System, which are core technology in helicopter
have been indigenously developed

LTBAs have been entered into private industries for development and production of
many equipment/ systems for projected quantity of 187 Nos

has

been

completed.

Clubbing of both RSH and LUH program will deprive the country and the
Company of Indigenous development capability. Hence , RSH and LUH to
be delinked
HAL should be supported to continue with prestigious indigenous
development project of LUH with the backing of MoD / Gol and to achieve
self-reliance in the field of Rotary Wing Research and Development.
39

UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLES (UAV)

Current UAV Development Activities at HAL

Indigenous development of Mini UAV of 8 kg class. First
flight carried out in Sep 2014
Co-development of Micro UAV of 2.5 kg class with NAL.
Co-development of Rustom MALE UAV with ADE.
(MALE - Medium Altitude Long Endurance)
Co-development of Rotary Mini UAV with IIT-K
Collaboration with international OEMs for meeting
immediate market requirements (Mini / Tactical / MALE).
TOT discussions on Nishant UAV with ADE.
Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has been created for UAV
