Overview of Subjects
Throughout this phase of the year, we will be continuing to issue projects and assessments using a variety
of methods. Mathematics we will continue to use the Mathematics process with Algebraic statements and to
develop an understanding of formulas in Measurement which will be completed at your own pace. Science
will use Inquiry model investigations, to investigate the inner workings of our body systems where you will
learn different topics and experiment creating labs and products. History will use Open Inquiry, where you
choose a BIG idea questions and investigate the decisions that create a country and its constitution, and
the major events that shaped our nation.

History:
Canadian Identity
The Canadian constitution was drafted to separate us form the British Realm. But It was also
supposed to be different from the Unite States, as their reasons for separation were vastly
different. You will investigate the differences in constitutions (world-wide), and create a
constitution for your region.
We will also use the historical inquiry process to investigate perspectives of different groups on
some significant events, developments, and/or issues that affected Canada and/or Canadians
between 1850 and 1890.

Students are going to get a opportunity to begin coding in class and build their own web site. As
