Below you will find a complete breakdown of the forthcoming GCSE schedule. Please
do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or quaries regarding your
son/daughters progress during this important time.
GCSE Art and Design Exam Schedule 2016
Exam Schedule: Preparatory study & 10 hour exam
Please note development sessions will be recorded in students sketchbook and
annotated to describe the visual journey. The art department is available for extra
study Mon-Thurs 2:45-4pm for all GCSE & IGCSE students.

1st January- Exam is emailed to students and brainstorming/taking

photographs related to theme should commence.
Week beginning 10th January AO3 Research use
www.albateenart.weebly.com, a study guide with suggested tasks will be
available for the entire preparation period..use it!
Wednesday 13th January AO3- Drawing Exam from Photographs. Record
Observations
Thursday 14th January - Coursework Final Piece Exam. Time to create a final
pice based on your coursework. A mockup of this piece should be shown to
teachers before the exam.
Thursday 4th February- Sheet 1 Deadline- Hand in Observation Sheet (Photos,
Pencil Crown, Ink, Oil Pastels etc)
Sunday 21st February Sheet 2 Deadline - Hand in 1st artist study sheet.
Sunday 6th March Sheet 3 Deadline 2nd artist study sheet is to be
submitted for assessment feedback.
Sunday 20th March Sheet 4 Deadline-Development sheet of ideas,
techniques and experimentations needs to be submitted. There are no
extensions.
Sunday 20th March to Thursday 24th of March is review week before the
holidays.
Wednesday 16th March All Coursework is submitted including final piece/s..
24th March 10th April School Holiday 2 weeks. Use this extra time to develop your
work.
Sunday 10th April- All coursework to be resubmitted for feedback and
assessment.
12th April - AO1/2/3 Development of ideas and Experimentation LEADING TO
FINAL MOCK UP plan for exam
Thursday 17th APRIL- Sheet 5 Deadline- Mock up of final piece to be submitted
11th to 21stApril AO4 Final Design ideas and Preparation for Exam.
Art Exam Thursday 21st April and Sunday 24th April 10 hours. Teachers
assess on 25th.
1st May- Final Submission Deadline for all coursework as teachers must start
marking that day.
