Good Evening everyone,

Tonight I would like to address the city council and address the rumors that I will be
retiring this month. I will be retiring! Retiring after over thirty five years of service,
and 4 as the chief
of the best fire department in
the country is one of the hardest things I have had to do.
It has been an honor, a privilege and a pleasure to serve this city and as the chief of
this department.
On January 24th, 2016 I will be turning the chiefs duties over to newly appointed
Chief James McLaughlin and Assistant chief David Morse. For the next few weeks I
look forward to working with them during this transition phase.

In closing I would like to thank Mayor Avedisian for this opportunity to serve as chief
and to the city council who I have had the privilege of working with for the last ten
years. I have had the privilege of working with the council during council meetings
and during the six disasters that this city has experienced during my tenure. For
instance removing Councilman Solomon from his area during the floods by way of a
Back hoe!
It has also been my pleasure to work with the employees of the city during the last
several years, especially during the construction of station ten in Potowomut.
Finally, I would like to thank each and every one of the Warwick Firefighters and
local 2748 executive board for their professionalism and support during my tenure
as assistant chief and chief of the Warwick Fire Department.
