Architectural Engineering is
when you apply skills of
science, mathematics, and
sometimes social studies
( research purposes). In
Architectural Engineering you
have to apply your regular
engineering skills in the
process of designing and
construction. Architects
design things such as
buildings, bridges, and
houses. Architects are the
ones that design all the
buildings you have ever
stepped place in. For example
our school was designed by a
Architect.

Architects are eligible to make
anywhere from 79,000 dollars to
119,000 dollars a year. If you do the
math that is approximately 6,60010,000 dollars a mouth. Even though
taxes have not been deducted yet that
is still a whole lot of money.

Educational Requirements

To be a architect you have to have at

least a bachelors degree to be eligible
to be in architectural firm. Many
college students who desire to be
Architects must take courses in
Mechanical and Civil engineering. The
reason for this is because Mechanical
and Civil Engineers study design and
how and how to put things together
and since that is what architecture is
all about then it must be important to
take courses in Mechanical and Civil
engineering.

Characteristics of a Good
Architect
You must be able to communicate with the
customer through visual, written, and verbal
communication.
You must fully understand your job (this is crucial
to any job really)
You must have the desire to constantly learn
You must have the ability to be flexible, because
the business changes all the time

Required Experience/ Training

I researched and found that in the U.S. that the minimum number of experience it
would take in order to be a architect are listed below.
School: 5 Years you go to college to learn everything you need to know about
architecture.
Internship: 3 Years- you go to internships to put everything you learned in school
to life.
Also have to write or take an exam- you take exams to prove what you learned and
witnessed.
Lastly you have to be get a license to make you a official architect.- proves all the
hard work you did in preparing to be a architect.

Job Outlook and Job Listing

Job Outlook
You must be able to take advice from clients to determine
the out look of the building.
You must provide clients with information regarding the
building such as cost and estimating building times.

area designs, costs and construction.
preparing reports, site plans, working drawings,

modelling, structures, vegetation and access
inspecting construction work in progress to ensure
compliance with plans, specifications and quality standards

Ways for High School Students to

learn about Architectural Engineering
One program that I attend is called the ACE (Architectural, Construction, and
Engineering) Mentoring Program that assists kids with more knowledge on what
engineering really is like. This program discusses a lot of design processes and
what type of things are required in the process of designing buildings. This
information is crucial to being a Architectural engineer.
