1. Computer

A machine that responds to instructions


given and has a programmed system.

2. Desktop

Part of the computer where it portrays the


file systems which contain many of the
pictures, documents and more.

3. Icon

A program that is represented by a picture.

4. Shortcut

A special type of file, that takes you to


another file or device, in an easier way for
you.

5. Taskbar

A part of the desktop, that lets you switch to


another program or go somewhere else.

6. Wallpaper

A part of the monitor which displays a picture


or pattern, or something, as the background
of the computer.

7. Hardware

A part of the computer, which can actually be


touched.

8. Software

Its basically anything that can go into the


computer electronically.

9. CPU

CPU stands for Central Processing Unit and


its basically, the brains of the computer and
does most of the calculations. Its one of the
most important element of a computer
system.

Modem

Its a device that enables a computer to


transfer data over, to a telephone or cable
lines, for example.

Peripheral

Its computer devices, but not necessarily

part of the computer.

Input Device

A machine that gives data into a computer,


by work or anything related.

represents it.

A disk that can be changed by being


recorded many times and erased many
