Instructional Delivery
a. Gather informal, confidential evaluations from the students at least once per semester.
i. Create a webform on Google Drive to solicit anonymous feedback on those
issues. Send the students a link to the webform via email and encourage
them, in person or by email, to submit their viewpoints.
b. Review feedback and incorporate it into my instructional delivery, where appropriate.
i. Notify the students of changes I will make to the class.
ii. Explain my rationale for not implementing suggestions that received
significant support.
c. Use technology in the classroom, including PowerPoint, TurningTechnology clickers,
SMART board, in-class video clips, etc.
d. Post PowerPoint slides on Canvas, so students have a copy of the in-class notes.
i. Post a PDF version as handouts for those who take written notes: 3 slides
per page, with lines for adding handwritten notes.
ii. Post a PPT version for those who take electronic notes.
e. Maintain a Teaching Resource list of supplemental content (news articles, video clips,
etc.) for use in teaching.
f. Incorporate links to the Teaching Resource materials in PowerPoint slides, so students
who are interested can learn more about the content outside of class.
i. Imbed content into slides for content that I intend to cover during class.
ii. Add a FYI: More to the Story page at the end of the files, for students to
explore on their own, if interested.

Course Management
a. Arrive for class 10-15 minutes early each day.
b. Post and hold regular office hours; in addition, use a Bruinmail Google Calendar form
to allow students to arrange phone meetings and in-person appointments outside of
regular office hours.
c. Respond to message from students in a timely manner: within one business day.
d. Post messages to students on Canvas Announcements page, so students have ongoing
access to the information, for their reference.
i. Refer back to these announcements as relevant questions arise, so students
recognize that the page is there as a resource.
e. Maintain the signup sheet for Eccles Lab School observations in the Bruinmail Google
Calendar, so students can see the appointments in their own calendars upon signup.

Professional Organizations
a. Maintain membership in the National Council on Family Relations.
b. Serve on the board for the Utah Council on Family Relations and provide assistance
with the annual conference, as appropriate.
c. Maintain membership in the Utah State Bar Association, since issues of family and
criminal law are directly related to subjects that I teach. Where possible, focus
continuing education activities on areas related to my courses (esp. family law).
d. Serve on the governors Utah Marriage Commission.
e. Participate in and contribute to the CTE Refocus Meeting.

Field of Knowledge
a. Subscribe to and read the Journal of Marriage and Family, Family Relations, and
Journal of Family Theory and Review. Focus on articles related to subjects I teach
(lifespan development, marriage/family, and/or human sexuality).
b. Attend the annual meeting for the National Council on Family Relationships. Arrange,
ahead of time, to attend sessions directly related to subjects I teach (lifespan
development, marriage/family, and/or human sexuality).
c. Attend and assist with the annual conference for the Utah Council on Family
Relationships, arranging to attend sessions directly related to my curriculum, as above.
d. Monitor the status of legal cases/issues relevant to my teaching, such as the Brown v.
Buhman (Sister Wives) polygamy case, which is currently under appeal in Utah federal
court.

v. Train instructors on individual basis as necessary, via electronic or face-toface instruction.
