Guidelines for assessing the answer-books

1. Keep respective question paper, solution and assessment chart with you.
2. After checking the answer, put marks on the boxes available on top of page from
where student started to write answer of particular question with question
number (Sample: 1); do not write marks in students area (where student is
writing answer).

Sample: 1
3. For Multiple Choice Questions or Questions require only one word/sentence of
answer, put () sign for each correct answer and put () sign for each wrong
answer and then put total mark.
4. If answer is looking to give 0 (Zero) mark as per your evaluation then put ()
sign on that answer.

5. If sign is put inside answer (on any statement/ words/ set of statements) then
it must be eligible for non-zero mark.
6. NA is to be written in mark box if student not attempted that answer at all,
otherwise mark must be written (either 0 or non-zero).
7. If student has attempted both parts of the question like,
3(a)

3(b)

Or

3(a)

3(b)

Examiner has to put marks of first set (i.e. 3(a) & 3(b)) and second set (i.e. or of
3(a) & 3(b)) and he has to consider higher marks from both sets. Examiner can
put remark as extra or attempted OR of same question (Sample: 2).

Sample: 2

8. If student attempted same question twice, examiner can put remark that
(student attempted same question twice) on this page no. (Sample: 2)
9. Suppose the question is like this,

Examiner has to put the separate mark for each sub-question and total of Q:3 (a)
is to be put on box available on top of the page and same for Q:3 (b).
10. If student has attempted Q: 1(a) on the first page for example and Q: 1(b) not in
sequence but on the last page or any other page or in supplementary then
examiner has to evaluate all such parts of Q: 1 and put mark accordingly.
11. Put line with red pen on blank pages where student has not written anything as
well as he/she has done rough work.
12. Do not forget to carry forward mark of each question on the front page of answer
book.
13. Please calculate total twice.
14. All faculty members have to refer reference books which are suggested by GTU
and also suggest to the students same books.

Note:
Guideline given in Sr. No. (1), (3), (4), (5), (6), (9), (10), (11) and (13) are also to be
followed by examiners during E-assessment.
