The Chennai city metro will run starting from early morning (6 AM) till midnight. The train
will stop at every stations for 30 seconds. The train has the capacity of 1276 persons
including standing capacity. It will take approximately 17 minutes to reach St.Thomas mt
station (Kathipara). Metro railway will be operated on all days Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Maximum fare: Rs.30 40
Initially it was said that the free Chennai metro rail ticket will be there. The free travel was
discussed as it will increase the use of the new Metro rail. The Chennai metro train ticket
charge / fee will range between 10 rupees and 40 rupees.
