The Variation in terms of Sub-Clause 51 (1) is triggered by the Engineers Instruction

issued to the Contractor during the course of the Project. In accordance with this, the
Engineers instruction constituted a Variation to the Works within the meaning of Clause
51(1) [Variations] of the Conditions of Contract with the effect to be valued in accordance
with Clause 52 [Valuation of Variations] of the same.
