Language Creation Project Outline

Jin Woo Justin Won

began 1/23/16
Goal: To create a language that resembles English and Latin in vocabulary and
basic root words, but follows Korean honorifics and subtle sentence ending grammar
of Korean language.

Description of the Language (some ideas):

The new language will be an amalgamation of the Korean grammar and the
vocabulary of English. The language will have enhanced and enriched
vocabulary and simpler and richer grammar, because Korean grammar will be
simplified while not losing its subtle nuances. Simply itll be Korean in the
form of English language. Itll convey Korean meanings of honorifics and
nuances with English words and some Anglo-nized Koean words. Many
English vocabulary will be made regular and more concise, especially those
words related to dates, numbers, and time. It might employ old English words
or esoteric ones to convey certain meanings in Korean grammar and
sentences. Basically this is an attempt to make English into an agglutinative
language, one example of which is the Korean language.
Using the example of the synthetic language Esperanto (which is also an
agglutinative language), the new language can have a simplified, regular
version of Korean grammar, much like Esperanto grammar combined with
English words (with their pronunciation made regular). An easy to learn, but
still intricate enough to convey Korean nuances, is this new language. The
language will have very scientific and concise numeric counting system, so
that it can be the best language to do mathematics in.
An insight into an agglutinative language
In English and most other languages, many new words are formed using suffixes.
For example, the noun revolution can be made into an adjective revolutionary
by adding the suffix -ary. I think that agglutinative language expands that suffix
system to formulate new words to serve grammatical functions. For example, in
Korean, the subject of a sentence is marked by a suffix -/-/-/-. Which, I
think, is a form of word forming suffix systems extended version. Since this method
is highly effective and able to make many subtle nuance changes in a sentence,
English with this highly effective extension will be an amazing language to know.
Steps to the Goal:
1. Do background research
2. Come up with grammar rules and syntax of the language
3. Write a book or a pamphlet that thoroughly discusses and explains what the
language is and what its like.

4. Promote the use of the language (by writing the first literary works of the
language)
The reason why Korean + Latin/English is desirable:

Korean to English or vice versa translation is impossible without killing each

languages subtle nuances. Thus, creating a language that can bridge the two
distinct languages will promote literary exchange and communication
between the two cultures and languages.
English lacks subtle honorifics and other subtle changes to sentences. Thus,
an English-based language with such subtleties will be used quite often
among people who like to play with words.
Korean and Japanese are hard to learn for English speakers. With its
English/Latin-based vocabulary, the new language will enable many reluctant
English speakers to learn Korean and Japanese languages, thus making a
more global and international world.

Research Topics:

Identify each parts of language to make it a unique language

Study other cases of artificial languages
Study Korean grammar and its sentence/word endings rules and idiomatic
phrases.
Study the fusion of Korean grammar and Latin/English vocabulary.
Study Esperanto and how it became famous even though it is an artificial
language.
