Ashlie Moody has been a student at Flint Southwestern Classical Academy for the past four
years. During her tenure, she has shown an undying dedication to her academics and to the
learning of others students. Without hesitation, I give Ashlie my highest favorable
recommendation to your institution.
As the College Adviser at Flint Southwestern, I have been responsible for guiding and
navigating students through their transition from high school to postsecondary life; I spend
ample time with seniors while understanding their strengths and advising on how to
maximize them. After getting to know Ashlie through a college visit to the University of
Michigan, I can confidently call her an extremely high-achieving model student.
When Ashlie is not studying or completing work, she gives her time and service by
decorating hallways or helping out in school-wide events. Ashlie also participates in senior
service learning during the day by helping out an English teacher with essential tasks and
helping manage the schools library. Ashlies commitments to mowing lawns, baby sitting,
and tutoring adds another hardy dimension on her already excellent work ethic.
While she is taking several IB Diploma Program courses, she is also completes dualenrollment coursework at the University of Michigan - Flint. Thus, she is familiar with the
challenging standards of college-level academic work. As a member of the top docile of her
graduating class, Ashlie has been recognized for her high honors and having the highest
ACT score in her grade these acknowledgements gives a glimpse of her abilities and
characteristics that would be applied in her endeavors in a college environment.
In my perspective, Ashlie is an individual who wants to take full advantage of the
opportunities in front of her, especially with regards to attending the best university
possible. Her peers often wonder how she is able to accomplish so much outside the
classroom and still maintain an optimum GPA. Her admission to your university would
