Overview
Over the next semester you will be expected to complete two short essays per
week. In accordance with our calendar year, due dates may vary, and will be
specified to you at the beginning of each week. As mentioned, these essays, once
graded and returned to you must be kept in an organized folder, as they will be
included in your final portfolio. By following the guidelines below, you can be sure
to secure a suitable grade.

Inquiry Question Research Report

Each week, you will be given a series of three inquiry questions. You have the
choice to pick any one that interests you. For the assignment, you must write a one
page research paper on your chosen question. At the end of your paper, you must
include a properly MLA-formatted bibliography of any sources you used to answer
your question. Your paper must also include proper in text citations from the
sources you used. Failure to meet any of the mentioned requirements will result in
loss of credit.

Current Research Summary

Each week, you will be expected to search and find an article on research that is
being done now that pertains to the given unit. Once you have read through the
article, you must write a brief summary and draw your own conclusions about the
effects this research may have on the field of psychology. At the end of your paper,
you must include a properly MLA-formatted bibliography of the article you chose.

Other Requirements of both Papers:

12 point font
Times New Roman
Double spaced
Grading Policy

Each of these assignments will be graded as a writing assignment, which is worth

10% of your marking period grade. However, because these documents will be a
vital part of your final portfolio, it is imperative that you complete them each week
to ensure you receive full credit at the end of the semester. You papers will be
graded solely on fluency, support (in text citations), proper bibliography, length
requirement and content.
