ABSTRACT
THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING INTERACTIVE VIDEO ON THINKING
SKILLS IN GEOMETRIC CONSTRUCTION IN MATHEMATICS FORM TWO
The purpose of this research is to study the effectiveness of using interactive video
on thinking skills and problems solving skills in Geometric Constructions. This
study used a quasi-experimental design. The study sample involved 72 students form
two from one secondary school in Kudat District. The sample was divided into two
groups, the control group and the experimental group. Each group consisted of 36
students, the control group (36 students) were taught using conventional teaching
methods and a experimental group (36 students) were taught with interactive video
in teaching and learning process. The test results were analyzed using independent
t-test to determine whether there were significant differences in the mean of thinking
skills and problem solving skills between the control and experimental groups in pre
and post test. T-test analysis showed that there was a significant difference in the
mean of thinking skills (t = 6879, p<.05) and (t=6.93,p<.05)for problem solving
skills.
