Energy generation industry in Indonesia have frequency standard 50

Hz. Energy generated from many power plant to supply power to consumer.
Load demand from consumer must be response by powerplant to achieve
balance between energy generated and energy demand. If it can not be
achieved, will make frequency changed from it's nominal value . If frequency
continously decreased will make blackout of electricity and trip in the power
plant.
Power plant produced active power and reactive power to real power
demand. Balancing active power can be done by controlling frequncy value
in 50 Hz. Voltage control in generator output will balance reactive power
generated and reactive power demand. Controlling value in 50 Hz is
essential, because many electric machinary like ac motor need 50 Hz
frequency. They cannot in their rated speed if the amount of frequency is not
50 Hz. Effort to control the frequency value is commonly know as load
frequency control.
PID control algorithm easy to be implement in process control of power
plant. Commonly only integral and derivative term is used to control variable
to achieve desired output. In load frequency control (LFC) used integral
controller to achieve error frequency in steady state equal to zero. Derivative
term cannot be used in LFC because of will deteoriated noise and make
instability. Noise generated from innumerable switching movement in the
load side. In otherwise, PID algorithm have satisfied performance if the
problem of noise can be reduced.
Using low pass filter in differential feedback can reduced noise, but will
caused instability of the system if proportional gain is increased[ ]. Another
methode known as averaged derivative, by using element delay to signal can
reduced noise. Both of the methode will be implemented in LFC with two
generator supplying single area.
