ANALYSIS

POSTER 1
Flight of the Concords was the
most influential for us in terms of
narrative, style and
cinematography. While this is not
a film poster, it is still a poster
and can be used for analysis. We
have a two shot of our
protagonists, the confused look
on their faces and weird, paper
cut out look reinforces the lighthearted comedy style that we are
trying to emulate in the Ghost
Writer. The background with its
70s inspired spirally sky and
simply drawn clouds also create a
charming effect. This is defiantly
a poster Ill try to emulate when
designing mine.

POSTER 2
Dumb and Dumber was also a big
inspiration when writing the
Ghost Writer. The most prominent
feature of this film poster is the
two shot of the two main
protagonists, it reinforces the
buddy comedy element of the
film. As the Ghost Writer is a
buddy comedy, it would be wise
to emulate this. A slogan is also
featured, and the typography
used on the title also reinforces
the characters personalities by
having a backwords B.

POSTER 3
Airplane was a influence in terms
of the silly, not taking itself
seriously at all, comedy style we
wanted to emulated in The Ghost
Writer. Therefore it was only
natural I would look to this
poster for this inspiration. There
is a comic book style present in
this poster; it looks hand drawn.
Notable features of this poster
are its title, tagline and slogan
they all reinforce the comedy
genre.
