Evaluation question 3: What have you learned

from your audiences' feedback?
The feedback that I had received from my target audience
proved to be extremely vital during pre and post production;
this is for the reason that it allowed me to realise how I am able
to improve my production and evidently, it allows me to be
aware of what my target audience enjoyed about my
documentary and what concepts within the production could be
improved.
The feedback from my target audience came through the forms
of word of mouth, recorded feedback from the internet [Survey
Monkey] and information that I had gained from my pre
questionnaire and post questionnaire. The video that goes
along with this question was created using those from our
target audience to answer questions, based on the
documentary and what their personal opinions on the
production were. This video was solely created to ensure that
our target audience were aware of what my production was
about and how it had made them feel i.e. are they more
informed about the topic.
With the help of multiple platforms of audience feedback, I was
able to receive the data that I wanted. The documentary was
an informative documentary which meant that the sole purpose
was to inform the audience on the topic, as I had received
feedback from my post questionnaire it was evident that the
majority of the audience had felt more educated on the topic of
cyber bullying.
The online post/pre questionnaires were created via survey
monkey, this proved to be ideal for my target audience as the
majority of them use the internet frequently; it was simple to
answer the questionnaire as all the participant had to do was
visit my blog and fill out the questionnaire which would take 3 4 minutes; proving that it is not time consuming.

Below are both my pre and post questionnaires that

were posted on my blog for my audience to participate
in:

After collecting the data from my pre/post

questionnaires, I am able to say that I had managed to
fulfil all of my target audiences' needs:

Response to each question in the pre questionnaire:

By Ranvir Jandoo 13W

1. I had a mixture or males and females, from a range of

different age groups; the video above compliments this
response.
2. I had provided the options of different age groups within
my pre questionnaire, the responses that I had received
were evenly spread out. However there was a shortage of
those aged above the age of 36.
3. Most of those who participated within the questionnaire
watched documentaries, however there was a small
minority who did not.
4. Despite the popularity of the previous question, a large
proportion of the participants did not prefer
documentaries over other forms of programme.
5. A large majority of participants answered that they would
rather watch another form of programme, instead of
documentaries. This data compliments the question
above.
6. Judging from the results of this question, it was evident
that my target audience would enjoy my documentary as
the majority answered that they enjoy watching
informative documentaries over the other forms.
7. A large majority of the participants were familiar with the
topic of my documentary, which was good as it allowed
me to research and include more interesting facts about
cyber bullying rather than just covering the basics.
8. More than half of the participants said that they would
enjoy watching a documentary about cyber bullying,
which was a relief as the topic of the documentary was
cyber bullying. This response meant that the audience
would be interested in the topic which would lead to a
successful production.
9. All participants agreed on the question of 'what issues of
cyber bullying would you like to be discussed in the
documentary?', all participants agreed on 'any of the
above' which meant that as an audience they did not want
the documentary to be focused on a single issue, which
allowed me to be more creative as a director.

10.
The results stated that a large proportion of those
who participated have been affected of know someone
who has been affected by cyber bullying, which means
that they will be able to relate to those individuals who will
be interviewed within the production. It also means that
they will be able to appreciate and understand the
statistics and figures within the documentary.

Response to each question in the post questionnaire:

1. It was evident from the results of the question, that the
majority of the audience enjoyed the documentary.
2. From the results, it was evident that the audience agreed
that the lighting was the weakest aspect of the
documentary, rather than the interviews or the topic;
which means that on a whole they had enjoyed the
production.
3. I had received extremely positive feedback from this
question, with the majority of participants agreeing that
they found the interviews and topic of the documentary to
be the strongest aspect of my documentary.
4. It was clear that the audience would like to have seen
more interviews within the documentary, which is positive
feedback as it suggests that they were intrigued by the
interviews within the production.
5. A large proportion of the audience agreed that they feel
more educated and informed on the topic of the
documentary, meaning that as a director I was able to
inform the consumer on the topic of cyber bullying.
6. 100% of participants agreed that the target audience of
ages 11 - 35 was suitable to the documentary, whilst
writing the question I had a strong feeling that the
feedback would be positive as those who participated in
the questionnaire were of the target audience.

7. From the feedback, it was evident that the audience would

like to have heard more from the victim of cyber bullying,
suggesting that it may have been emotive, which allowed
the audience to sympathise with the interviewee.
8. The feedback from this question was extremely positive as
all participants rated the production 6 and above.
To conclude I was extremely pleased with the audiences
feedback, as it the majority of it was positive, indicating that
the production was successful. The feedback also suggested
that those who watched the production felt more informed
about the topic, meaning that the documentary had fulfilled it
purpose.
