BULLETIN OVERVIEW

Fabric Manager is not supported on Fabric OS v6.1.1 or higher, as it has not been tested in those
environments.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Attempting to use Fabric Manager v5.5 and lower with Fabric OS v6.1.1 and higher releases may
encounter problems with Zoning, Performance monitoring, SYSLOG configuration, FICON
wizards, IOD Delay. AAA replication, Port enable/disable and other functions.

RISK ASSESSMENT
Many of the Fabric Manager functions may not work as expected. Examples of this compromised
functionality are zoning dialog and performance graph functionality. The client may not be updated
properly and stale data could be shown in FM. Finally, users will see inconsistent behavior of FM.
SYMPTO MS

The following behaviors are symptoms the users will see:

1. Zoning dialog cannot be launched.
2. Tx/Rx values do not show up in performance graph.
3. SYSLOG registration will appear inconsistent and clients will not be updated (user need to
refresh every time.) Also, the client will not get trap info from the switch.
4. FICON wizard cannot be launched.
5. AAA replication operation will fail due to CAL error.
6. Port enabling/Disabling through FM cannot be performed.
7. Physical inventory report will show empty values.

WORKAROUND
There is no workaround, see corrective action below.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

To maintain Manageability support:

- Customers using Fabric Manager v5.5 and lower with Fabric OS v6.1.1and higher, when
Admin Domains are established, should downgrade their Fabric OS to a supported version,
i.e. Fabric OS v6.1.0x and lower, to continue using Admin Domains.
- Other customers are encouraged to upgrade to DCFM v10.3.x, which is currently available
via My Brocade or the Partner Network.
