Sequence of activities:

1. Vocabulary practice informal vs formal language


Aim:
To see if the Ss remember how to change formal sentences into informal
ones

PROCEDURE
IV 1,2 (a-e)/67. T explains again the
difference between formal and informal
language and then explains Ss the task. Then,
Ss do the exercise and it is afterwards
checked orally.

2. Pre-reading
Aim:
To see if the Ss can scan the text for specific words

PROCEDURE

IV.3/68 T discusses with the students the words from


the right column and asks them to find where they are
in the text. Also, T asks Ss to give other examples in
which these words would be used.

3. While-reading and translation


Aim:
To improve Ss pronunciation and make them translate the text.

PROCEDURE
IV.3/68 Ss read the paragraphs by turn and
translate them. T gives the translation into
