MARY POPPINS PIT CUTS

First off, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! We have never had a pit at CaseyWestfield High School, so this is a new experience for everyone involved. Im really
looking forward to working with all of you in order to give the students a more
professional experience.
Secondly, I want to give everyone the dates again. Performances are Thursday and
Friday, November 19 & 20 at 7:00 (Call Time-6:15,) and Sunday, November 22 at 2:00
(Call Time-1:15.) There is also a matinee on Wednesday, November 18 (usually at 12:30.)
However, I assume most of you have class, so I do not expect the pit to be there for that.
Regarding rehearsals, Im only asking for one rehearsal due to the low payment. My plan
is to meet on Saturday, November 14 at 9:00 a.m. We will run a quick pit rehearsal for an
hour, and follow up with a sitzprobe once the students get there at 10. After a break for
lunch (which I will provide,) we will do a full run of the show. In the past, we were
usually done around 3, though, that usually consisted of two full runs. There will also be
two other rehearsals on the following Monday and Tuesday (11/16, 17.) However, I am
leaving those rehearsals up to you all.

That is all I have so far. One thing I would mention would be to play everything down a
dynamic than written. Most students will be without a mic, so this is crucial. I wanted to tell you
know so that I wont have to keep telling everyone to play quieter. As a heads up, we will be kind
of cramped, as we will be back stage behind a curtain. (Therefore, we shall perform the
November 20 show in pajamas!) To those who played at Newton, the songs will generally be
faster than before (I had this written several times in my four pages of notes.)

We will discuss things further as time gets closer, but I wanted to get you a rundown of what I
knew so far. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Thanks, everyone!
