What are some social programs that you are aware of?
o Health care
o Income assistance
o Pension
Have you or someone in your family ever benefited from a
social program?

Ask students to explain the different social programs


Discuss health care
What is the difference between Canadian health care and
American health care?
o Do you think our doctors or other professionals get
paid the same then?
Split class into two groups: one will be for Public Health
Care and the other Opposed to it
o Give them 5 minutes to come up with good points
for/against and let them debate
