The History of the Earth

4.6 Billion years ago

It was 1200 degrees (Celsius)

Only CO2
There was only liquid and rock.
Only meteors were crashing, there was no moon.
Another planet crashed into Earth causing a lava tsunami.

3.9 Billion years ago

The moon was formed

The moon was very close to Earth causing large tides.
There were more meteors with H20 in them
The dust from meteors cool to 70-80 degrees (Celsius) forming the crust
H20 covered the earth causing destructive winds (hurricanes)
Earth begins to cool and the surface hardens
Lava begins to break through the surface (Volcanoes)
The days are only 6 hours long due to the fast spinning of Earth.

3.8 Billion years ago

Volcanoes form islands

The air became toxic and the temperatures were scorching
More meteors containing minerals and amino acids
At the bottom of the ocean it was dark and almost freezing
Thermal vents at the bottom
Life (bacteria)

3.5 Billion years ago

The ocean was shallow

Bacteria mountain (Stromalite)
Photosynthesis began ( CO2 O2)
Fe
Fills ocean and reacts with Fe and falls to the bottom of the ocean
Fills atmosphere for 2 billion years
Slower spin so the days were longer

1.5 Billion years ago

The crust breaks because the hot core

Continents formed due to the breaking
30 degrees (Celsius)

0.750 Billion years ago

The Earths crust was breaking apart due to the molten core
There were a lot of volcanoes
The atmosphere was filled with CO2 and smoke
CO2 + H20 = Acid rain
The rocks absorbed the CO2 causing the atmospheres temperature to be
below 50 degrees (c)
Earths first ice age

0.650 Billion years ago

1000s m of ice
The ice reflected the sunlight causing more ice to form
2 ice sheets met at the equator covering the whole planet.
There were still hot volcanoes because of the hot core
