Love Parks Walk

Celebrate Love Parks Week (15 July-24 July)
by being introduced to some of Enfields most
beautiful parks, farmland and countryside!
Join Andy Hawksworth and Alan Mitellas on a ramble that
starts at Trent Country Park and then follows the London LOOP
footpath through picturesque countryside and farmland, before
exploring Whitewebbs Park and finishing at Forty Hall. We will be
looking at some of the fascinating aspects of nature and history
along the way, including three of Enfields Scheduled Ancient
Monuments. If you wish to leave the group along the way, there
will be several breakpoints along the route, close to public
transport facilities.
Meet 10:00am at Trent Park, by the caf. Enter the park
through the Cockfosters Road entrance (approx. 2:30pm
finish). No need to book. Wear comfortable footwear.
Bring a packed lunch and something to drink. Plan your trip
home from Forty Hall before attending (public transport
information to return to Trent Park will be provided at the
event). Total distance: approx. 9 miles.

Another opportunity to join Alan Mitellas on this highly popular
walk that explores the incredible history of Trent Park. No
particular interest in local history is required, just bring yourselves
along and be amazed as you find out about the royal Enfield
Chase, A-List weekend parties for the rich and famous and the
highly specialised WWII POW camp, run by the Secret Service;
not forgetting the history, mystery and legends of Camlet Moat
globally recognised by many as a sacred site.

Celebrate International Bat Weekend by joining a special evening
tour of Grovelands Park to experience these amazing mammals
in action! Setting out at dusk, you will be led by Jeanette Sitton,
from the North London Bat Group, to get a closer look at these
fascinating creatures as they hunt in Grovelands Park. Bat
detectors will enable you to hear the ultrasonic echolocation calls
they use to navigate and find their insect prey in the dark!
Meet 7:45pm at Grovelands Park, by the caf. Nearest
entrance is in Broad Walk N21 (approx. 9:45pm finish).

as he leads a fascinating walking tour? Learn about Trent Parks
astounding wealth of history, from royal hunting grounds to

Trent Park Link Walk

Trent Park is the perfect location to start (or end) a walk that
links together some beautiful parks and open spaces in the local
area. Join walk leaders Andy Hawksworth and Alan Mitellas on
a tour that starts at Trent Park, explores the lesser known New
Fields, then continues through Oakwood Park, Grovelands Park
and finishing at Arnos Park (Arnos Grove Underground Station
nearby is just three stops away from Cockfosters Station, next to
Trent Park). We will be looking at some of the many fascinating
aspects of nature and history along the way, including the 900
year old Minchenden Oak.
Meet 10:00am at Trent Park, by the caf. Enter the park
through the Cockfosters Road entrance (approx. 2:00pm

bring something to eat and drink. If you do not intend to
return to Trent Park after the walk, please plan your trip home

The Treasure of Trees

Join expert Andy Hawksworth as he takes you through a tour
of the varied tree species that grow in Trent Park. Learn about
the wildlife that live in them, how man has used trees over the
centuries and how to identify the more common varieties which
are found in the parkland, along with some interesting facts
about our more unusual trees.

The Wander of Photography

SUNDAY 26TH JUNE 2016
Local commercial photographer, Chris Wood, leads this fun
and informative walk which will tell you all you need to know
about capturing the perfect shot. Chris, who has over 40 years
experience in the art, has photographed most members of the
Royal Family, the cast of Star Wars, Michael Jackson, Lea Valley
Park and much more. Dont miss this one-day-only chance to
learn some of his photography secrets! This event is suitable for
amateur photographers and anyone who wants to learn how
to take better photographs. Please bring a camera or a camera
phone (participants will be welcome to post their masterpiece
shots from the walk onto our Facebook page!).
