Trivias about Jose Rizal

Trivia #1
l

Did you know Rizal

once sent a love letter
written in invisible
ink to Leonor
Valenzuela?

Trivia #1

It says that the message could only be

deciphered if you put the letter over a lamp or
candle. Leonor Valenzuela was one of Rizals
first sweethearts. Unfortunately, they parted
ways when Rizal had to leave for Spain.

Reaction
I think Dr. Jose Rizal was a very romantic and
creative man during his days. I wouldn't doubt about
the love letter he sent to Leonor Valenzuela using an
invisible ink. I think it was his way of expressing his
affection to Leonor Valenzuela in a very unique yet
simple way.

Trivia #2
l

Did you know while

in Dapitan, Rizal
wrote an extensive
written discourse on
kulam?

Trivia #2
It was Entitled La curacion de los
hechizados (The treatment and cure of the
bewitched), this lesser-known work of Rizal
explores the psychological treatment for kulam
and even explained that witches were not always
women who are old or ugly.

Reaction
I think Dr. Jose Rizal was a very artistic man. He
was also regarded by many as the Father of
Philippine Comics. I find it very amusing
because he also discussed the difference
between hiloanon of the Visayas, who gives
poison to her victims, and the manggagaway,
the traditional witch who uses rag doll and
pins.

Trivia #3
Did you know Jose
Rizal's Mi Ultimo
Adios (My Last
Farewell) is the most
translated Filipino
poem?

Trivia #3
Mi Ultimo Adios was originally written in
Spanish, the historical verse is now rendered in
38 other languages. The piece was one of the
last notes he wrote before his death.

Reaction
Dr. Jose Rizal has shown his love and importance
in our country by writing his last and beautiful
poem just before his execution. I think Mi
Ultimo Adios is indeed the most patriotic poem
ever made by our National Hero.
