Pengertian Habitus
1. Pierre Bourdieu: Habitus can be defined as a system of durable and transposable
disposition (lasting, acquired schemes of perception, thought, and action). The
individual agent develops these disposition in response to the determining structure
(such as class, family, and education) and external condition (field) they encounter.
2. Habitus refers to those aspects of culture that are anchored in the body; or, daily
practices of individuals, groups, societies and nations. It includes the totality of
learned habits, bodily skills, styles, tastes, and other non-discursive knowledges that
might be said to "go without saying" for a specific group.
3. The habitus provides the practical skills and dispositions necessary to navigate within
different fields (such as sport, professional life, art) and guides the choices of the
individual without ever being strictly reducible to prescribed, formal rules. At the same
time, the habitus is constantly remade by these navigations and choices (including
the success or failure of previous actions).
Etos adalah kebiasaan, berbasis pada state of mind, yang berhubungan dengan
kegiatan produktif [etos belajar, etos kerja, etos menabung, dsb].

Etos kerja adalah seperangkat perilaku kerja, yang berakar pada kesadaran yang kuat,
keyakinan yang jelas dan mantap, serta komitmen yang teguh pada prinsip,
paradigma, dan wawasan kerja yang khas dan spesifik.

Habitus adalah kebiasaan, berbasis pada state of body, yang berhubungan dengan
kegiatan kualitatif [habitus aristokrat, habitus bangsawan, habitus wong cilik, habitus
profesional, habitus sehat, dsb].

Habitus refers to the cultural capital an individual possesses as a result of his or her
class position. Habitus is embodied; that is, it works through the body at a nonconscious level.
